Description

What it does

Estimate from your price book, with a takeoff that counts the labor

Set your services, panels, wire, devices and fixtures once, each with a cost, a sell price and the hours one unit takes to install. Add them to a bid in one pick, with the markup that reaches your sell price. The takeoff turns 600 ft of 12/2 cable, ten receptacles and twelve recessed lights plus a waste allowance into the quantity to order, rounded up, and adds one labor line at your own cost and billing rate.

A dispatch board for your electricians

One row per electrician, one column per day, one card per job with its arrival window. Emergency and urgent calls are coloured, unassigned jobs are called out, and the + in an empty cell books a job straight into that slot. An accepted estimate becomes a job in one click, with its price and cost budget.

Real margin, backlog and revenue per labor hour

Job price plus approved change orders, minus materials and electrician hours at their rate. It is calculated from the records you already entered, so it cannot go stale. The dashboard adds the numbers an electrical contractor steers by: jobs today, backlog still to bill, revenue per labor hour, estimate close rate, callback rate and gross margin.

Permits, inspections, service plans and materials

Permit numbers, inspection dates and results, with an alert on a failed inspection and a first-pass rate on the dashboard. Annual safety inspections, generator maintenance and infrared panel scan plans with their renewal dates. Callbacks and punch lists, electrician licences and their expiry, parts stock with low-stock alerts, and purchase orders that log the cost when received.

Before you buy

What is electrical contractor software, and what does this one do?
It is the program a contractor runs the business in: bids, jobs, schedule, costs and invoices. This one builds a bid from your own price book, so every service, part and fixture carries your cost and your sell price. It adds a takeoff that includes install labor, a dispatch board for your electricians, permits and inspections, job costing and invoices, all in one file that works offline.
Is this electrical contractor job management software?
Yes, for a small shop. Each job has a customer, an electrician, a date and an arrival window, a price, a cost budget, change orders, field reports, permits and invoices. The job cost sheet shows price against cost and the margin so far. It is a single-computer tool, so it suits an owner-operator or a small crew with one office computer.
Can it be used as electrical contractor project management software?
For jobs that run a few days or a few weeks, yes: progress, tasks on a board, change orders, progress billing, deposits and a cost budget per job. It does not build Gantt charts, manage submittals or RFIs, or coordinate a large multi-trade project, and it is not meant to.
Does it do estimating and bids for electricians?
It does a quantity takeoff, not a plan-reading one. You type feet of cable, counts of devices and fixtures, add a waste percentage, and it shows the quantity to order rounded up. If you entered an install time for each item it also adds the labor. It does not read drawings and it does not include a published labor-unit book: the times are your own.
Is it electrical contractor scheduling software?
It has a dispatch board that lays jobs out by electrician and day, with arrival windows and priority colours, and a month calendar with every date the software knows about. You enter and move the jobs yourself. It does not optimise routes, track vans by GPS or text customers.
Does it work as invoicing and billing software for electrical contractors?
Yes. Service, deposit, progress, final, change-order and credit-memo invoices, with Paid, Partial and Overdue worked out for you. You can bill time and material, with labor hours at your rate plus materials with markup, or a flat price. It is not a general ledger, so payroll, bank feeds and tax filing stay with your bookkeeping program; every list exports to CSV for your accountant.
Can several people use it at once?
No, and it is worth knowing before you buy. There is no cloud sync and no shared database, so it is one computer at a time. Another office computer can work from a copy by restoring a backup file, but the two copies do not merge.
Is there a subscription?
No. One payment for the file, no account, no server and no monthly fee. Electrical contractor software is usually rented by the month. Your records stay in your own browser and nothing is uploaded anywhere, so keep a backup file somewhere else.
