Key benefits

💵

One-time payment

No monthly fee, no per-user charge and no yearly renewal. The price you see is the whole price.

🚚

A live dispatch board

Every open call as a card: who it is for, where, which lock, which technician and how far along it is.

🔑

Key records and rekey alerts

The doors you keyed, the keys you cut and a warning when a key goes missing.

📈

Real margin per job

Job price minus keys, hardware and technician hours, from the records you already entered.

What this locksmith software does

Everything a small locksmith shop runs on, in one place.

You get a dashboard, a dispatch board, a schedule, reports, leads, estimates, a price book, customers, maintenance plans, work orders and job reports.

It also tracks tasks, change orders, callbacks, key records, ID and authorization records, technicians, subcontractors, suppliers, tools and vans, and keys and parts stock.

Invoices, purchase orders, expenses and timesheets are included. You can export to CSV or JSON backup, and the app runs with a light or dark theme.

Locksmith scheduling software

Every work order has a date, a time, a priority and a technician. The weekly board has one row per technician and one column per day, and the monthly schedule adds rekeys due, maintenance visits, invoice due dates and deliveries.

Click the + in an empty cell to book a call into that slot. You enter and move the jobs yourself; it does not take online bookings.

Locksmith work order software

A work order holds the customer, address, job type, the lock or vehicle details, the technician, the ETA you quoted and a box for ID or ownership verified. Lockouts, rekeys, car keys, safes and access control each have their own job type.

An accepted estimate becomes a work order in one click, with its price and cost budget carried across.

Locksmith invoicing software

Build the estimate from a flat-rate price book with cost, sell price and markup. Invoice with service, deposit, progress, final, change-order and credit-memo invoices, with Paid, Partial and Overdue worked out for you.

Everything prints on your own letterhead with a signature line, and saves as a PDF to email.

Locksmith inventory software

Key blanks, transponder keys, fobs, cylinders, deadbolts and hardware, each with a minimum level and a place, in the shop or in a van. Low stock raises an alert, and receiving a purchase order adds the stock and logs the cost.

Locksmith management software

Leads from first call to won or lost, customers with their work orders, key records and invoices, maintenance plans for property managers and fleets with one-click renewal, tasks, callbacks and warranty returns.

Costs, technicians and reports

Hours and rate per technician, subcontractors, suppliers, tools and vans with service dates, expenses by category, and reports for revenue, costs, margin, response time and revenue by job type over any date range.

Locksmith dispatch software, honestly

One board for every call that is open right now.

At ten at night a locksmith dispatcher needs to see who is driving, who is on site and who is still unassigned. The dispatch board shows exactly that, and it says where its limits are.

One card per open call

Customer, address, lock or vehicle details, the ETA you quoted and a technician drop-down. Emergencies sort to the top in red, urgent calls in amber.

Four steps, each one timed

Dispatch, Start driving, Arrived, Complete. Each step stamps the time, so the dashboard can show your average response time, from dispatch to arrival.

ID check on lockouts

A lockout, safe or car-key call that is under way without ID verified shows a warning with a one-click “Mark verified”, and the details go into the ID & Authorization log.

What it does not do

No GPS tracking, no live map, no technician phone app, no automatic customer texts and no two people editing at once. The dispatcher keeps the board on one computer.

How a locksmith call runs

From first call to paid in four steps.

1

Take the call

Add the customer and the work order: address, lock or vehicle, priority and the price from your price book. Note ETA and whether ID is verified.

2

Dispatch it

Pick a technician on the live board and press Dispatch. Move it to Start driving and Arrived as the call progresses.

3

Do it and record it

File the job report, log hours and the keys and hardware used, and add a key record for any system you cut. Margin updates itself.

4

Invoice and collect

Raise the invoice, record the payment and see what is still owed. Callbacks, rekeys due and plan renewals show up before they are forgotten.

Why locksmiths switch

You are not really choosing between two locksmith software packages.

Most locksmith software is rented by the month, and the records live on somebody else’s server. Spreadsheets are free but cannot build an estimate from a price book or show which calls are open.

This software for locksmiths is a file you own, with the locksmith-specific parts built in.

The subscription column is a general description of locksmith software sold by the month, not a claim about any single company — features and pricing differ, so check each site.

OwnDesk Locksmith is single-computer software: it does not sync between devices, track vans by GPS, send messages or process card payments.

From payment to your first work order

Three steps, about two minutes.

1

Pay with card

Checkout runs on Stripe. Your card details never touch this site.

2

Download and open

The link appears the moment payment clears. Double-click the file — it opens in your browser, no install, no internet needed after that.

3

Look around, then start fresh

It opens with a sample locksmith company already loaded. Remove the sample data from Settings and add your own price book, customers and calls.

Questions

Before you buy.

What is locksmith software?
Locksmith software is the tool a locksmith runs calls, estimates, keys and invoices in. For a locksmith that also means a flat-rate price book of lockouts, rekeys, keys and fobs, a live board of open calls, stock of key blanks and hardware, and a record of which doors you keyed. This one puts all of it in one offline file, so an accepted estimate carries straight into a work order and an invoice.
Is this locksmith scheduling software?
Yes. Every work order has a date, a time, a priority (standard, urgent or emergency) and a technician. A weekly board shows one row per technician and one column per day, and a monthly schedule adds invoice due dates, rekeys due, maintenance visits and deliveries. You enter and move the jobs yourself; it does not book customers online.
Is it locksmith dispatch software? Does it track my vans with GPS?
It is a dispatch board, not a GPS system. Open calls show as cards with the customer, address, lock or vehicle details and the technician. The dispatcher assigns a technician and moves the call through Dispatch, Start driving, Arrived and Complete, and each step stamps the time so the dashboard shows your average response time. It has no GPS tracking, no live map, no technician phone app and no automatic customer texts, because the whole file lives on one computer.
Is it locksmith management software for a small shop?
Yes. It is built for an owner-operator or a shop of a few technicians: leads, estimates, work orders, a price book, customers, maintenance plans, job reports, tasks, callbacks, key records, subcontractors, suppliers, tools and vans, stock, purchase orders, expenses, timesheets and invoices, in one file. There are no user accounts, so it is a one-person-at-a-time office tool.
Is it locksmith business software with work orders?
Yes. A work order holds the customer, address, job type (lockout, rekey, car key, safe, access control and more), the lock or vehicle details, the technician, the arrival time, an ETA you quoted and a tick for ID or ownership verified. Price against cost and margin show on every job, and an accepted estimate becomes a work order in one click.
Is it locksmith inventory software? Can it track key blanks and fobs?
Yes. Keys & Parts holds key blanks, transponder keys, fobs, cylinders, deadbolts and other hardware, each with a minimum level and a place (shop or a van), and warns you when stock is at or below the minimum. Marking a purchase order received adds the stock for items with the same name and logs the cost against the job. It does not hold a key-code or vehicle key-programming database.
Is it locksmith invoicing software?
Yes. Build an estimate from your price book, turn it into a work order and invoice it. Invoices can be service, deposit, progress billing, final, change order or credit memo, and Paid, Partial and Overdue are worked out for you. Every estimate and invoice prints on your own letterhead, and you can save it as a PDF to email.
What are key records, and what is the ID & Authorization log?
Key Records keep the history of every key system you cut for a customer: the lock brand and keyway, the doors or vehicle, how many keys were cut, when the next rekey is due and the status. A record flagged Rekey Needed or Key Lost / Stolen raises an alert. The ID & Authorization log is where you write down how you checked who you were working for, such as photo ID, a lease or a registration. It records what you enter and does not verify anyone; it is not legal advice. Safe combinations are never stored.
Can it take card payments, send texts or sync with accounting software?
No. It records payments against an invoice, by card, check, cash, transfer or financing, and shows what is still owed. The money moves through the terminal or app you already use. It sends no texts or emails from inside the app, exports CSV for your accountant and does not sync with accounting software.
Can my technicians use it on their phones, or several people at once?
No, and this is the honest limit worth knowing before you buy. There is no cloud sync, no shared database and no technician app, so it is one computer at a time. A second computer can work from a copy by restoring a backup file, but the two copies do not merge.
Is there software for locksmiths with no monthly fee?
Yes. Most locksmith software is sold as a monthly subscription, and the price depends on the company, the plan and the number of users, so check each site for the current figure. This one is a single payment for the file, with no monthly fee and no per-user charge, and the records stay yours if you stop using it.
Where are my records stored, and is there a subscription?
Records live inside your browser, on your own computer, and nothing is uploaded anywhere. Settings has a backup export and, in Chrome and Edge, an automatic backup file. Key records are sensitive, so keep your backup somewhere safe. There is no subscription: one payment for the file, no account, no server, no monthly fee.

Dispatch a call in it before you decide.

The live demo has real screens and a sample locksmith company loaded — no sign-up beyond your name and email, no credit card. If it fits, buying takes about a minute.
