Last updated 18 August 2026. These are the terms you agree to when you buy an OwnDesk product.
Who you are buying from
OwnDesk is a one-person business run by Adrian. Contact: contact@theowndesk.com.
What you are buying
A licence to use a finished application. You pay once. There is no subscription, no renewal, no per-seat charge and no expiry date. A product you buy today does not stop working, and does not move to a higher tier later.
What your licence covers
Each product page states what a single licence covers, because it differs by product: one business, one dealership, or one phone in the case of OwnDesk Blast.
You may:
- Install and use the software on the computers of the business it was bought for.
- Keep as many backup copies of the file as you like.
- Keep using it for as long as you want, including after newer versions are released.
You may not:
- Resell, rent, sublicence or redistribute the file.
- Publish it for download, or share a licence key publicly.
- Remove or work around the licensing in the product.
What the software deliberately does not do
Offline, single-file software has real limits. They are written on every product page before you pay, not hidden in a support article afterwards. It does not sync between users in real time, it does not send email by itself, and it does not take card payments inside the application. OwnDesk Blast sends text messages, but through your own phone and SIM, not through any service of mine.
If one of those limits is a dealbreaker for you, write to me before you buy and I will tell you honestly whether a product fits.
Your data and your backups
Your records are stored by your own browser, on your own device. That is what makes them private: I never hold a copy. It also makes them your responsibility. If you clear your browser data, move to a new computer without exporting, or lose the device, I cannot recover anything for you, because there is nothing on my side to recover from.
Every product includes a one-click backup. Please use it, and keep the backup somewhere other than the machine that runs the software.
Support
Support is me, by email, at contact@theowndesk.com. I answer questions about how a product works and I fix bugs in it, usually within one working day. I do not provide accounting, tax, legal or business advice, and I cannot reconstruct data you have lost.
Refunds
Fourteen days, no questions asked. The full terms are on the Refund and Returns Policy page.
What you need to run it
Each product page lists its requirements. In general: an up-to-date browser on Windows, macOS or Linux. OwnDesk Blast needs an Android phone and installs from a file rather than from Google Play. There is no iPhone version of Blast, and there cannot be one.
Prices and currency
Prices are shown and charged in US dollars, through Stripe. If your card is in another currency, your bank applies its own exchange rate and may add its own fee. That charge is between you and your bank.
Liability
I build these products carefully and use them myself, but no software is flawless. Because these are sold once, at a small fixed price, and with no ongoing contract, my total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid for the product. I am not liable for lost profits, lost data or interruption to your business.
Nothing in these terms removes or limits any right you have under the consumer law that applies where you live, where that right cannot be limited by agreement.
Changes to these terms
I may update these terms for future purchases. The terms that apply to you are the ones published on this page on the day you bought.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of the country in which OwnDesk is established. This does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer law of the country in which you live.
