Quality control software for inspections, findings, NCRs and verified corrective actions.

Quality management system software that carries a failed check all the way to a verified close: inspections, findings, NCRs and corrective actions that cannot be marked closed until someone has verified the fix and put their name to it.

Nothing closes unverified

What this quality control software does

Everything a quality team tracks, in one file.

Dashboard • inspections & checklists you build yourself • quality audits • findings with photo evidence • NCRs with root cause & containment • corrective actions with a verification gate • customers & projects • CSV export & JSON backup • printable reports with your logo • eight colour themes.

Nothing gets lost after the inspection

A failed check must have a finding raised against it before the inspection can be completed. There is no setting to switch that off, because an inspection that closes with a loose failure on it is exactly how problems disappear.

Verification, not a ticked box

A corrective action cannot jump from open to closed. It records who verified the work, on what date, with what note and what evidence. Anyone can say a thing was fixed; a client or an auditor asks who looked at it.

Checklists you build yourself

Reusable checklists with your own sections and questions. Any check can be marked critical, can demand a comment when it does not pass, and can require a photograph when it fails.

Reports you hand to a client

Printable inspection and NCR reports with your logo, the customer and project, every check and its result, each finding with its photographs, and a signature block to close the document.

Why teams switch

You're not really choosing between two quality management systems.

Enterprise quality management software prices per user, per month, and often assumes a workflow-configuration project before you inspect anything. OwnDesk Quality does the part a small team touches every day — checklists, findings, NCRs, verified corrective actions — for one payment.

 OwnDesk QualityTypical quality management software
Price $ 49.00 once $29–$149+/user/mo
Verification gate before closure Included Often a higher tier
Photo evidence in printed reports Included Often included
Works offline Yes Limited or none
Team seats / multi-user Not included — one computer at a time Often included, at a price
Setup Open the file, go Account setup, workflow configuration

Competitor pricing is a general market range for quality management software, not a quote from any single company — check current pricing on each site. OwnDesk Quality is single-computer software: it does not sync between devices, and it is not a substitute for a certification body's own audit requirements.

Questions

Before you buy.

What does quality control software like this actually do?
It carries the whole chain from the check that failed on site to the signed-off closure: inspection, finding, NCR, corrective action, verification, closed. Most inspection apps stop at the checklist; this one does not let a failure go until the fix has been verified and someone has put their name to it.
Is this a full quality management system (QMS), or just an inspection app?
It sits in between. It covers the ten sections a small quality team touches every day — dashboard, inspections, quality audits, findings, NCRs, corrective actions, checklists, customers & projects, reports and settings — with root cause, containment and a verification gate built in. What it does not have is the workflow-builder, integrations and multi-site administration layer of an enterprise QMS platform; if you need that, this is not the right fit and we would rather say so than have you find out after buying.
Can I track findings and NCRs?
Yes, and the program insists on the first. Findings carry a category, severity, description, location, assigned party, due date, recommendation and photographs. Any finding can be escalated into a Non-Conformance Report with containment, root cause, corrective action and a target date.
Is this construction quality management software, or built for manufacturing?
Both, by design — it does not assume either industry. Checklists, findings and NCRs work the same way for a punch-list item on a job site as they do for a failed line check in a plant; the five ready-made checklists are a starting point you edit or replace either way.
Can it track a quality issue against a supplier or contractor, not just my own team?
Yes — a finding or NCR carries an assigned party, so a problem caused by a supplier or subcontractor is recorded as theirs rather than folded into your own team's numbers. The reports section includes a closure-rate scorecard, so a supplier with a pattern of failed checks becomes visible before it turns into a bigger problem.
Can I use photographs during an inspection?
Photographs attach to checklist lines, to findings and to corrective actions, and they print inside the inspection and NCR reports automatically — including the ones carried across from the failed check. Each one is resized on saving, so a phone photograph does not bloat the file.
Does it handle quality audits as well as inspections?
There is a separate audits section. An audit records the auditor, department, standard and checklist, and raises findings into exactly the same workflow as an inspection.
Can several people work in it at once?
No, and this is the honest limit worth knowing before you buy. There is no cloud sync and no shared database, so it is one computer at a time. If you need a team working the same records simultaneously, this is the wrong tool.
Is there a subscription?
No. One payment for the file, no account, no server, no monthly fee. Most quality management software charges per user, per month, indefinitely. Your records stay on your own computer and nothing is uploaded anywhere.

See your own checklist in it before you decide.
