What it does

A day schedule with a column for every groomer

Pet grooming scheduling software should show the whole salon at a glance. The Day Schedule lays the day out by the hour, one column per groomer, each appointment a block colored by status. Click an empty slot to book it, click a block to open it, and print the day sheet for the front desk. Save an overlap, or a visit that runs past closing, and the app tells you who is already booked and asks first – it warns, it never locks you out.

Price and length that adjust for the pet’s size

Pick a pet and a service and the price and the length are worked out automatically from that pet’s saved size – a Small dog and an X-Large dog are not billed or scheduled the same for a Full Groom. Edit either by hand any time; it never overwrites a number you typed yourself. It is the one thing generic booking software skips.

Walk-ins, rebooks, check-out and tips

Add Walk-In opens the form at the next slot. Rebook books the same pet, groomer, service and time again in 1 to 6 weeks and checks the calendar first. Check Out records the service price, the tip and how the owner paid, and Sell a Product records a retail sale and takes it off your stock. It is the record-keeping side of a grooming POS: it does not process cards.

Pet profiles and groomer commission

Every pet carries its breed, size, coat type, temperament and groom notes, plus the owner’s contact details, preferred groomer, visits and last visit. Set a commission percentage per groomer once, and click a groomer to see this month’s appointments, revenue and commission owed from completed visits, tips excluded.

Before you buy

What is the best pet grooming software for a small salon that does not want a subscription?
For a small salon, the honest answer is something you own. Subscription platforms charge per groomer or per van every month, and the bill climbs with every groomer you add. This is a one-time purchase that covers appointments, the day schedule, walk-ins, check-out and tips, pet profiles, retail stock and groomer commission, with no renewal and no per-groomer fee.
Is this pet grooming scheduling software? Can it handle booking and appointments?
Yes, that is the core of it. You enter the appointment (pet, groomer, service, date, time) and the app lists the open times, warns you before a double-booking, shows the day by groomer and rebooks regulars in one click. Day Schedule, Appointments and Month Calendar all read from the same bookings, so nothing is entered twice.
Does the price change based on the pet’s size?
Yes. Every pet’s profile has a size (Small, Medium, Large, X-Large). Pick a service for that pet and the price and length are worked out automatically from its size, so a Full Groom on a Chihuahua and a Full Groom on a Great Dane don’t get the same number by accident. You can always type your own price and length instead.
Is this pet grooming salon software, or built for mobile groomers too?
Both. It runs on any laptop or tablet a groomer already has, whether that is one screen at the front desk of a salon or the same file opened each morning in a mobile van. There is no location lock and no per-van fee.
Is it pet grooming POS software? Does it take payments?
It records payments; it does not process them. Check Out logs the service price, the tip and the payment method, and Sell a Product logs a retail sale and updates your stock. There is no card reader connection, so if your card terminal is separate, this is the record-keeping side.
Does it work out groomer commission?
Yes. Set a commission percentage per groomer once. Their month’s appointments, revenue and commission owed come from completed visits at the service price, tips excluded.
Can more than one person use it at the same time?
No, and it is worth knowing before you buy. There is no cloud sync or shared database, so it is one computer at a time. The front desk and a second computer can each work from a restored backup file, but the two copies do not merge.
Is there a subscription?
No. One payment for the file, no account, no server and no monthly fee. Pet grooming software is usually rented by the month, per groomer or per van. Your records stay in your own browser and nothing is uploaded anywhere, so keep a backup file somewhere else.
